SRA Block Farm Trainers’ Training at SIFI Training Center

The Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) was tapped by SIFI in supporting the SIDA-assisted Block Farms to be the participants of its  2-day trainers’ training conducted last May 29-30,2018 at  the SIFI Training Center, Talisay City.

SRA, as an agency responsible for promoting the development of sugar industry, was given the opportunity to avail of training for its SRA Block Farm technical staff and agriculturists on Organizational Development and Facilitation Skills.

About 29 SRA personnel attended the said event and Ms. Edith Villanueva, the SIFI President & COO gave a welcome address and inspirational message on “how to be a good leader and effective communicator”. The training focused on “Organizing an Event, Creating an Effective Training Program, Assessment, Types of Visual Aids and Development Interventions”.  All of these topics were discussed on the first day.

Next day, participants tackled the block farm concept and its project flows and interventions. It allowed them to enhance their facilitation skills and strategies on how to make trainings more productive and impressive to the audience. Also, it challenged them on how they will deal with field operations and how to interact with different types of people from different areas.

The training also gave them knowledge on how to improve their leadership skills, especially how they handle people and how to work together as a team. They were able to identify the characteristics of different communities and how they will apply the rules of a progressive workplace. In the end, participants were very thankful on how SIFI imparted knowledge and information on effective community organizing.
