ASSISI PARTNERS WITH SIFI IN HAPAG-ASA FEEDING PROJECT IN BAGO CITY

Over 200 beneficiaries with their parents in the SIFI – HapagAsa Feeding Project attended the launching in Brgy. Don Jorge L. Araneta, Bago City last July.

Assisi Development Foundation, Inc. (ADFI) and the SIFI as the implementing partner, started their collaborative six-month, HapagAsa integrated home-based feeding project with Brgy. Don Jorge L. Araneta, Bago City as the chosen community. A total of 150 feeding beneficiaries were identified. The beneficiaries were classified as wasted, stunting & malnourished children aged 0-5 years old and pregnant & lactating mothers.

The program’s kick-off focused on Beneficiary Orientation, Nutritional Talks, Good Parenting and Early Childhood Development Education. Topics and presentations were discussed with collaborating partners and offices from the Bago City Government – Nutrition & Social Welfare and Development Office.

The partnership with Bago City Government was made possible by Mayor Nicholas Yulo, CSWDO led by Ms. Leah Pilipina Canayon, RSW, and City Nutrition Office headed by Ms. Josephine dela Chica.

The MannaPack preparation and cooking demonstration of various dishes from the MannaPack Cookbook was also facilitated by SIFI Project Officer Alfael Belleza.

Fun and games were also included to boost attentive listening and cooperation of the beneficiaries. An energizer — a zumba dance – was led by dancing leaders from the said community.

The activity ended with the first batch distribution of MannaPacks. Parents and guardians of the beneficiaries were oriented on how to prepare a variety of appetizing recipes they can create to protect and keep their youngs from sickness and malnourishment, in the comfort of their homes.
