Today, students juggle their time to cater activities and schoolwork in a blended learning set-up. To aid the scholars’ career preparation, an online seminar titled “Life Skills” was given by Dr. Marie Therese V. Jochico on October 22, 2022 via Google Meet.
The online seminar was divided into three parts, starting with the introduction to the “Future Trends in the World and Work”, followed by “21st Century Skills”, and the “Essential Skills to Learn from College”. The discussion ranged from identifying hard skills from soft skills to learning information, media and technology (IMT) literacy and reevaluating one’s life skills. Aside from that, issues on globalization, communication, competencies, and self-awareness were also tackled in the webinar.
During the question and answer segment, scholars voiced out their sentiments and anxieties for their chosen career path. The participants interacted with Dr. Jochico and shared each other’s thoughts about the session. In the hopes of imparting workplace values and behavior to the scholars, Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. (SIFI) President and COO Ms. Edith Y. Villanueva shared her words of encouragement to the scholars.
The online seminar was attended by 43 scholars from Visayas and Mindanao, headed by Education Project Officer Angelica Hebionada.
