SIFI SCHOLARS JOIN VIRTUAL BOOK SHARING AND VIRTUAL ASIAN TOUR

SIFI Scholars from Iloilo joined the Book Sharing and Virtual Tour of Brunei, Indonesia, and Malaysia via Zoom last April 30, 2021, a virtual learning activity initiated by the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Imbang Grande in partnership with Local Youth Development Office of Passi City in celebration of Literature Month.

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Imbang Grande was led by Chairperson Irene Olipendo, a SIFI scholar who graduated in 2017.

The primary aim of the program was to educate young people about the value of reading. One of the SK’s projects, programs, & activities (PPA) is global mobility which aims to create a space for youth to explore and make cross- border collaboration with different countries.

Khairunisa Binti Pungut, Assistant Legal Advisor of Respect Me Community – Brunei, Stevie Leonard Harison, Inspirator of Muda Nusantra Indonesia, and Tam Xueh Wei, Campaign Manager of 111 Initiative in Malaysia shared their knowledge and expertise during the learning activity. The speakers talked about their passion for reading and their favorite books. They also gave the participants a glimpse of the culture, food, and arts of their respective countries.
