STANDING STRONG, COVID-19 PREVENTION KITS DISTRIBUTION CONTINUES

The Sugar Industry Foundation believes that health is wealth. And its mission to provide sugar workers and their dependents access to quality health kits continues.

SIFI had distributed a total of 360 COVID-19 prevention kits to beneficiaries in hacienda farms and communities in the months of August and September.

The distributions benefitted more than 1,500 household members from GOCE Transloading in Cauayan, Inapoy Transloading in Kabankalan, and Asociation de Agricultores de La Carlota y Pontevedra, Inc. (AALCPI) in La Carlota in the province of Negros Occidental.

Beneficiaries from Asociation de Agricultores de La Carlota y Pontevedra, Inc. (AALCPI) in La Carlota, Negros Occidental lined-up to receive their hygiene kit for COVID Prevention. 120 households benefitted from the distribution last September 8, 2021.

The Hygiene Kit for COVID Prevention consists of vitamin syrup for children, tablets for adults, paracetamol, alcohol, disposable face masks, face shields, and infographic flyers about COVID prevention tips in Hiligaynon and Filipino.

SIFI Health Officer Norelyn Dela Cruz makes sure that all kits have the correct contents before distribution.

The Sugar Industry Foundation has assisted more than 11,000 households and more than 50,000 family members since the project started when the pandemic hit.

This project is a temporary replacement for the SIFI medical – dental missions which are currently not allowed because of restrictions set by the Philippine Task Force against COVID-19.

Precautionary measures were strictly observed during the distributions to avoid the spread of the virus.
