SIFI LIVELIHOOD GROUPS VENTURE INTO BUSINESS:BUSINESS PLANNING

A two-day workshop focusing on Business Planning and Proposal Making was conducted on July 11-12, 2019 at the SIFI Training Center, Talisay City wherein 5 Agrarian Reform Beneficiary groups coming from STARSFA (Murcia), CUFFA (Pontevedra), Don Jorge (Bago), ISARFAWA (Pontevedra) and BBARBFA (Bago) were the attendees to plan and propose the Bakery as their business venture.

The resource speaker for the event was  Ms. Noreza Causing of  the University of St. La Salle. The workshop’s goal was for the groups to structure their businesses with proper phasing, well-planned procedures and identify the various features embodied in every business. The participants were made aware of the value of a good business name and location. Factors like safety, accessibility and customer traffic were emphasized. They were also asked to estimate the size of their market in order to identify the types of bread to prepare and identify the hours of day and the possible customers that would drop into their bakery. The business proposal projections were made according to the asset requirements. Building capitalization was estimated, assets like bakery equipment were identified, and total project cost was finally determined.

At the end of the 2-day session, the groups were more confident in pursuing their business objectives and obtained greater knowledge and capability in managing their proposed livelihood ventures..
