150 HOUSEHOLDS RECEIVE FEEDING INGREDIENTS FROM SIFI

The Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. (SIFI), in partnership with Assisi Development Foundation, Inc. (ADFI), is now half-way through their implementation of the home-based feeding project.

HapagAsa Integrated Feeding Project is an initiative to reduce the number of malnourished children and the risk of lactating and/or pregnant mothers by providing them with MannaPack Fortified Rice donated by ADFI to SIFI. A total of 150 malnourished children and breastfeeding mothers were identified as the project beneficiaries.

As part of their project plan, and with SIFI as an implementing partner, additional goods for the ingredients subsidy were distributed to the 150 households every forty-five days. The supplementary ingredients include eggs, powdered milk, soy sauce, chicken and pork cubes, beef loaf, corned beef, and noodles. HapagAsa Integrated Feeding Project kicked off in July 2024 and will end on January 2025.

A total of P25,000 worth of goods were distributed to the project beneficiaries in Brgy. Don Jorge L. Araneta, Bago City. It is the chosen community of ADFI, which also happens to be one of SIFI’s Livelihood-assisted and Child Labor Mitigation Program-implemented groups.

Significant developments from the children and mothers’ weight, height, and nutritional status were observed to have improved during the weighing and distribution.
