SIFI Scholars: Advocates for Climate Change adaptation

“Do the little things that you need to do,” shared Edith Y. Villanueva, SIFI President and COO during the Greening Technologies and Practices Seminar-Workshop held on May 3, 2017 at SIFI Training Center, Talisay City.

Thirty (30) SIFI scholars attended the one-day seminar-workshop where they have learned to thoroughly understand the most important eco-political challenge facing humankind today; they have gained knowledge on the initiatives to adapt the practical strategies by shifting to Green Technologies.

The participants are to present their plan of action on October this year as part of their initiatives, as new advocates of climate change.

Facilitated by Ms. Rose J. Depra, Negros Economic Development Foundation (NEDF) Executive Director together with Ms. Olive Seruello, Information Officer 1 of the Provincial Environment  Management Office (PEMO) ; Mrs. Grace Peñalosa, Owner of Peñalosa Farm and wife of Mr. Ramon Peñalosa, Jr. a Farmer-Scientist and Treasurer of Foundation for Philippine Environment (FPE); Architect Robert T. Aguillon, Partner/Owner of AB Architectural Design Company, Accredited Assessor (AA) and Accredited Design Professional of Phil. Guen Bldg. Initiatives; and Mr. Paul Parrocho a high school SIFI Scholar of VMC, the owner of Shine Beauty Access Trading and a Member of Rotary Club Bacolod Central

The day ended with a moving message spoken by Ms. Neolita Y. Alminaza, SIFI Program Coordinator. / Angelica M. Hebionada, Training Specialist
