LEADERSHIP & VALUES FORMATION 2016 – A COMING TOGETHER OF SCHOLARS

The Leadership & Values Formation Seminar-Workshop on December 20 – 22, 2016 marks another historic milestone for SIFI and its Educational Aid Program (EDAP). For the first time since the trainings have started, SIFI was able to bring together SIFI Scholars from Negros Occidental (24), Negros Oriental (9) and Panay (2) to go through a unique learning experience in a single venue.

After the three-day seminar-workshop, the scholars acquired practical insights and skills in values formation anchored on self-discovery, reflection, consciousness of team spirit and active participation. The utilization of effective communication and listening skills were also emphasized. Educator and Leadership Mentor, Mr. Julio Labayen III acted as the over-all facilitator. The University of St. La Salle Guidance Counsellor, Mr. Noel Marañon facilitated the second day of the workshop. A fellowship activity together with the SIFI Board, Staff, partners and beneficiaries transpired during the final day of the workshop. The awarding of SIFI Scholars who graduated with honors and those who successfully passed the Licensure Examinations highlighted the event.

This year’s Leadership and Values Formation might be a start of more scholars gaining a deepening sense of belongingness to SIFI and the sugar industry. One thing is for certain, the seminar-workshop will always be SIFI’s involvement in opening the youth to realize their full potential.
