The Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. (SIFI) pursues its thrust to feed the minds, nourish the hearts, and train the hands of the members of the sugarcane community. Through the Educational Aid Program (EDAP) of SIFI, scholars from different parts of Mindanao actively participated in the back-to-back wellness seminars in Valencia City, Bukidnon.

Facilitated by SIFI Mindanao Project Officer Emmanuel Capul, 60 scholars participated in two sessions of wellness seminars led by Ms. Jamie Cabinta as the resource person.

With the combined hustle and challenges in the college level, the scholars’ most requested topics for seminars are related to the safeguarding of one’s mental well-being. This prompted the SIFI team to hold a series of “Mind Skills 101” seminars.
The first session focused on ideas in building resilience and how to emotionally cope with college life. Meanwhile. the second session highlighted the honing of mental fitness skills to deal with stress, anxiety, and pressure.
These topics were favorably received by the participants. They shared that the concepts and discussions shared in the sessions resonated deeply with their present status as college students. The seminar gave assurance and validation to the participants’ experiences in tackling personal and academic challenges.
SIFI aims to provide continued support to its scholars through life skills trainings and engagements.
