A meeting cum dialogue with Education Coordinators of SIFI from various mills and planters associations was held last April 16, 2018 at the SIFI Training Center in Talisay.
Led by its President Edith Villanueva and Program Officer Neolita Alminaza and facilitated by Julio Labayen, resource speaker from the Human Empowerment and Research Technology, the rationale of the forum was to disseminate the guidelines for recruitment and screening of the applicants for SIFI scholarship in school year 2018.
The forum began with a report on the results of the Needs Assessment Survey distributed beforehand to each Coordinator which analyzed their various skills – work, communication, leadership, analytical and people skills.
Next there was constructive feedbacking among the practitioners. Issues of concern were raised such as the priority of courses to be taken and the career choices of the scholars. Education and Marine courses were also recommended to be included for the Visayan region.
The next EDAP meeting was set for July or August with the agenda of Team building and Values Education.
