SIFI DISTRIBUTES MEDICAL KITS IN LUZON, VISAYAS AND MINDANAO

Due to the continuous outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. (SIFI) extended their help to their beneficiaries by providing alternative interventions caused by the cancelled medical missions due to the social distancing rules and crowd avoidance measures of local government units.

In lieu of missions, SIFI is currently distributing Medical-Hygiene Kits for Covid Prevention to sugarcane households. Each kit consists of vitamin syrup for children and tablets for adults, paracetamol, alcohol, washable face masks and infographic fliers about Covid prevention in Pilipino or Ilonggo. As of September, the foundation has distributed kits to a total of 910 households of sugarcane workers from SIFI’s affiliate mills and planters’ associations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Although there are plenty of precautionary measures that needs to be followed, it did not prevent the foundation from helping these beneficiaries who are currently facing so many hardships caused by the outbreak.
