The Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. (SIFI) conducted a medical-dental mission in Barangay Lanatan, Balayan, Batangas on January 31, 2026.
To pursue SIFI’s aim in reaching the sugarcane workers and dependents from far-flung communities through its Health Pillar, SIFI collaborated with URC SURE-Balayan and Red Cross Batangas Chapter for this medical-dental mission.
According to SIFI Southern Luzon Project Officer John B. Cena, a total of 253 beneficiaries received medical assistance from the mission. The sugarcane workers and dependents went through free medical consultations, dental check-ups and tooth extraction, with free medicines distributed as prescribed by the attending doctors.
The beneficiaries shared their sentiments on how they faced challenges in accessing basic health care services in their area. They expressed their gratitude to SIFI and the partner organizations catering to their communities in this event.
