The Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. (SIFI) in partnership with Negrense Volunteers for Change (NVC) Foundation, Inc. distributed 360 boxes of cake mix to 7 hacienda bakeries owned by agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBO) in Negros Occidental last July 13 – 16, 2021.
The donated cake mixes were intended to be an additional source of income to the hacienda bakeries.
“This new product we introduced is a big help because it added to our sales since they’re not hard to sell. We plan to improve and enhance this product in the coming days to make our bakery grow. We would like to say thank you to SIFI for the new product they gave us and for helping our bakery grow,” Alexander Canto, Chair of Nabinay ARC Cadiz, said.
Nabinay ARC Cadiz was able to sell 853 pieces of cupcakes for 5 pesos each with a total sales amounting to P4,265. Nabinay ARC’s hacienda bakery was established in 2017.
“The product added income to our bakery since they are attracted to the product. We are planning to sell the cupcakes in the neighboring farms in the following days,” Hiyasmen Gabales, Treasurer of CASAL-AGAN ARC in Pontevedra said.
She added that they are really thankful to SIFI and NVC for the help they received because it added to their income as well as capital for their business.
