PROTECTION AND PREVENTION, HYGIENE KITS DISTRIBUTION CONTINUES

In the months of April and May, SIFI’s Health Pillar distributed a total of 1,165 hygiene kits for COVID-19 prevention that benefited more than 5,200 household members in ten distribution events in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The distribution events spearheaded by South Luzon Project Officer John Cena were done in partnership with Batangas Integrated Sugar Planters Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BISPMPC) in Calaca and Lipa City, Batangas last April 8 and 11, Kamahari Agri-Based Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Nasugbu, Batangas last April 18, North Pampanga Agriculture Cooperative last April 21, and Carretonan Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Calatagan, Batangas last April 23.

In Visayas, Project Officer for Health Norelyn De La Cruz conducted 4 distribution events in the months of April and May.

In Mindanao, Project Officer Joseph Bryan Sermonia conducted 2 distribution events in April.

The Hygiene Kit for COVID Prevention consists of essentials like multi-vitamin syrup for children and tablets for adults, paracetamol, alcohol, disposable face masks, face shields, and info graphic flyers about COVID prevention tips in Hiligaynon and Filipino.

Sugar Industry Foundation has assisted more than 14,000 households and more than 67,000 family members since the project started when the pandemic hit in 2020.

Conducted as a temporary replacement for the SIFI medical – dental missions which were not allowed because of restrictions set by the Philippine Task Force against COVID-19, the Sugar Industry Foundation has assisted more than 14,000 households and more than 67,000 family members since the project started when the pandemic hit in 2020.

Precautionary measures were strictly observed during the distributions to avoid the spread of the virus.
