The Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. (SIFI) conducted a three-day workshop last May 20-22, 2019 on Multi-media Presentation, Design and Educational Technology Seminar-Workshop at the SIFI Computer Workroom in Talisay City. The event was intended for 2nd year college scholars in order to enhance their capacity to deliver their presentations in an effective and creative way while using PowerPoint tools.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Jundel Toriano, Coordinator for TLE-ICT at St. John’s Institute in Bacolod City. The event aims to transform the scholars into more competitive individuals, with improved understanding of the fundamental principles of effective multi-media presentation, reflecting upon previous experiences.
The workshop highlighted strategies in the interface of PowerPoint on how they will create their own expressions through various mediums. It made the scholars more equipped to depict real life situations and convert it to more creative ways of describing their feelings and emotions. For three days, they were given tasks such as making of doodle art, graphics basic shapes, animated photo gallery, formative assessment of participants, 3D animations, action and looping animations, animated pie chart and individual presentation of chosen topics. At the end of the training, they were able to maximize PowerPoint and its powerful tools as a multi-media software and a way of delivering their individual beauty in the form of graphic design.
