Aside from Lucban Multipurpose Cooperative’s businesses on production loan and savings mobilization, they pursued their garment business to further support their sugarcane farmer beneficiaries.
For almost two decades of partnership and collaboration with the Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. (SIFI), the Lucban MPC continues to help its members and dependents through the SIFI-assisted livelihood programs and the Educational Aid Program.
Lucban MPC Manager Imare B. Arroyo requested for the said training to be organized for the cooperative’s members. The garment business is said to be timely and profitable for their cooperative.
Gregorio Ortizo Jr. led the training as the resource speaker, with SIFI Southern Luzon Project Officer John Cena as the facilitator.
The training started with the leveling of the participants’ expectations, targeting a more strategic scheme for the garment business’ operational developments. Understanding the risks of the business was also tackled during the training. With this, the participants were able to identify their observations and preparatory steps if and when these disasters would arise.
The participants also shared their knowledge, suggestions, and recommendations regarding the actions that the cooperative could apply to their operations. Before the training ended, the group planned activities that the officers and staff could undertake as compliance to the management’s operations.
The 13 participants expressed their gratitude to SIFI and Mr. Ortizo for the execution of the training.
