ARB Groups Attend SIFI Business Policy Workshop

Growing a business requires clear goals and procedures in order to achieve success and sustainability.  Encouraged by the positive results of their previous seminars with the foundation, the newly-formed Agrarian Reform Beneficiary (ARB) groups assisted by SIFI participated in a Business Policy Workshop last November 21, 2019. The productive event was made possible by VRO Livelihood Officer Ms. Cristina May Poblador at the SIFI Training Center in Talisay City.

A total of 6 organizations attended the workshop—1) Brgy. Don Jorge L. Araneta ARC from Bago; 2) ISARFAWA from Pontevedra; 3) CUFFA from Pontevedra; 4) STARSFA from Murcia; 5) HAPAFA from Silay City; and 6) CAFA from Manapla.   Facilitating the workshop was Ms. ReenaGamboa, the Resource Speaker from Silay Exports.

The event’s goal was to focus more on a “business-like” approach for their coming livelihood ventures in order for entrepreneurship to be instilled in each of them. During the workshop, the groups were assigned to formulate their company Vision and Mission, and their Organizational Set-Up which will be used as a guide to making effective policies. They were then given the task to craft their business policies under certain categories depending on what they chose.

At the end of the workshop, the participants were able to draw up policies that should get their coops started, and to formulate official policies per company. Moreover, they were able to manage to create doable procedures that were applicable to their various enterprises. They now had a reliable compass to follow.
